Siltronic receives Intel’s preferred quality supplier award for the 6th time in a row

Siltronic AG has been recognized as one of 26 companies receiving Intel Corporation’s Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for their performance in 2015. The company has again demonstrated industry-leading commitment across all critical focus areas on which they are measured: quality, cost, availability, technology, customer service, labor and ethics systems and environmental sustainability. Siltronic AG is recognized for their significant contributions providing Intel with polished and epitaxial silicon wafers, deemed essential to Intel’s success.

“Winning Intel’s prestigious PQS award fills us with pride and spurs us on to continue providing Intel with excellent products and outstanding support in the future,” said Dr. Christoph von Plotho, Siltronic’s President and CEO. “We are especially pleased that Intel gave our metrology work again such a high score. Intel is a valuable partner in driving developments and meeting the requirements of the leading edge design rules. With our core competencies, we want to continue playing a key role, so that customers like Intel can take up their outstanding technological position.”

“Intel congratulates Siltronic on its sixth straight award-winning year. Siltronic continues to be a leader in the silicon metrology development, working on new methods and tools to improve silicon characterization. This year they also have strongly supported Intel’s newest technologies and maintained their commitment to efficiency improvements,” said Tim Hendry, Vice President and Director of fab materials in the Technology and Manufacturing Group at Intel.

The PQS award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) program that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, technology, environmental, social and governance goals. Suppliers must also achieve 80 percent or greater on a challenging improvement plan and demonstrate solid quality and business systems. A celebration to honor PQS award winners was held in Santa Clara, California themed “Delivering the Future Together”, which illustrates the contributions this supplier has made in 2015. In addition, there was an announcement on Intel’s website at https://newsroom.intel.com/ .
