Siltronic receives Intel’s prestigious supplier continuous quality improvement award

Siltronic has been recognized as one of nine companies receiving Intel Corporation’s prestigious Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award for their performance in 2011. Recognizing extraordinary commitment to quality and exceptional performance to Intel’s goals, this award is Intel’s highest honor for its suppliers acknowledging world-class, outstanding performance. Siltronic provided polished and epitaxial silicon wafers deemed vital to Intel’s success.

“We are extremely proud to receive the highest possible award from our key customer Intel,” says Dr. Christoph von Plotho, Siltronic president and CEO. “The SCQI award motivates us to continue our hard work to meet our customers’ ever-more demanding requirements in providing them with cutting-edge wafers which lead in terms of technology and quality.”

“Siltronic did an outstanding job of supporting Intel in 2011, including providing critical availability support following the earthquake in Japan. They continue to be an industry leader in the area of silicon metrology, and have been a key partner in supporting Intel’s development programs. Congratulations to Siltronic for winning Intel’s SCQI award,” said Tim Hendry, vice president and director of Fab Materials Operation, Intel Corporation.

The SCQI award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement program, which encourages Intel’s key suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, technology, environmental, social and governance goals. Suppliers must also achieve 90 percent or greater on a challenging improvement plan and demonstrate solid quality and business systems.

Additional information about the SCQI program is available at http://intel.com/go/quality .

A celebration to honor SCQI award winners will be held in Santa Clara, California. In addition, there was an announcement on Intel’s website at http://intel.com/ .
