Siltronic joins the United Nations Global Compact Initiative

Siltronic AG has joined the Global Compact, the world's most important initiative for responsible corporate governance of the United Nations. Upon accession, companies commit themselves to adhere to ten guidelines on human rights, labor standards, the environment and the prevention of corruption. The aim of the initiative is to strategically anchor the issue of sustainability along the entire value chain of companies..

'For us, sustainability not only means social responsibility, but also a decisive competitive advantage. For this reason, we plan resource-saving right from the beginning and always pay attention to product and production safety as well as health and environmental protection. Therefore, we are all the more pleased to be able to further promote this socially important topic by joining the Global Compact,' explains Dr. Christoph von Plotho, CEO of Siltronic AG.

By joining, Siltronic is also committed to communicating the goals and principles of the Global Compact through its various communication channels and to promoting efforts in other United Nations programs, such as the Global Sustainable Development Goals for sustainable development.

As part of a ‘Communication on Progress’ report, Siltronic will also regularly report to all stakeholders of the company on ongoing activities, progress and outcomes in the areas of human rights, prevention of corruption, labor standards and the environment. In the future, these will be published on both the Global Compact and the Siltronic website, where they will be available for download.

Worldwide, the Global Compact Initiative is already supported by around 13,000 companies and organizations from 170 countries. The German Global Compact Network comprises more than 350 companies and around 60 civil society, science and public sector organizations.

As part of its comprehensive sustainability strategy, in addition to the Global Compact, Siltronic also complies with the guidelines of the Responsible Care® Initiative as well as with the principles of the RBA (Responsible Business Alliance, formerly the EICC (Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition).
