Siltronic AG receives Intel’s preferred quality supplier award
“Winning Intel’s prestigious PQS award fills us with pride and spurs us on to continue providing Intel with excellent products and outstanding support in the future,” said Dr. Christoph von Plotho, Siltronic’s president and CEO. “We are especially pleased that Intel gave our metrology work such a high score. Intel is a valuable partner in driving developments and meeting the requirements of the future ten-nanometer design rule. With our core competencies, we want to continue playing a key role, so that customers like Intel can take up their outstanding technological position.”
“Siltronic has continued to be an exceptional partner for silicon technology development. This year they contributed a number of new projects to help develop silicon for our newest technology node and bring efficiencies to HVM processes. In addition, they continue to be leaders in the metrology area, developing new tools and methods to increase our ability at silicon characterization,” said Tim Hendry, TMG VP and GSM FM Director.
The PQS award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) program that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, technology, environmental, social and governance goals. Suppliers must also achieve 80 percent or greater on a challenging improvement plan and demonstrate solid quality and business systems. Additional information about the SCQI program is available at http://intel.com/go/quality.
A celebration to honor PQS award winners was held in Santa Clara, California themed “Innovating to Deliver Smart and Connected Devices”, which illustrates the contributions this supplier has made in 2014. In addition, there was an announcement on Intel’s website at http://intel.com.
