Siltronic AG receives Intel’s preferred quality supplier award
“Intel has been one of our key customers for several decades now, and together we enjoy a very successful business relationship,” said Dr. Christoph von Plotho, Siltronic president and CEO. “We are therefore very proud that Intel has again honored us with its prestigious PQS Award. This year we will continue our efforts to ensure that the wafers we deliver meet the high demands of customers like Intel across the board. The recognition granted by the PQS Award provides an extra impetus that drives everything we do to reach that goal.”
“Siltronic has continued to be an outstanding partner for silicon technology development. They are the industry leaders on metrology and have worked with Intel to develop and test novel wafer concepts. In addition, Siltronic has demonstrated a rigorous, holistic approach to EHS including comprehensive programs to reduce their environmental impact that is truly best in class,” said Tim Hendry, TMG VP and FMO Director
The PQS award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) program that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, technology, environmental, social and governance goals. Suppliers must also achieve 80 percent or greater on a challenging improvement plan and demonstrate solid quality and business systems. Additional information about the SCQI program is available at http://intel.com/go/quality.
A celebration to honor PQS award winners was held in Santa Clara, California themed “Deliver the Present and Create the Future”, which illustrates the contributions this supplier has made in 2013. In addition, there was an announcement on Intel’s website at http://intel.com.
