Facility occupational safety
We continually assess and revise our programs for preventing accidents and averting dangers.
The general public measures chemical companies by how credibly they practice and communicate safety. Accordingly, our plant safety concept (ANSIKO) makes provision for both functional crisis management and effective error prevention in order to avoid incidents and accidents. True to our vision of "no work or commute-related accidents, and no occupational illnesses," we measure our performance against annual targets, quoting the results in statistical form. We record and analyze dangerous incidents so as to prevent similar situations from arising in the future.
Health Protection
Siltronic views health protection as an integrated system for the preventive/ general care, safety and protection of its employees.
For Siltronic, health care also means preventive care. This integrated approach starts with safety in the workplace, continues with targeted improvement in the health state of every employee and ends with the early identification of possible addictions in employees. Based on the motto of a "healthy company," Siltronic developed an integrated company health management system in recent years which is certified to OHRIS and ISO 14001. To this end, our health services devised and implemented guidelines, standards, indicators, and reporting and auditing systems aimed at continually improving occupational health protection.
Responsibility for Employees
Social responsibility is a longstanding tradition at Siltronic - motivated, qualified employees are our most valuable resource. We create the conditions in which every employee can develop his abilities to the full.
Social responsibility in a company primarily means responsibility for employees. They are our most important resource and crucial to the company's success. Comprehensive programs on personnel development and equal opportunities, profit-sharing and pensions encourage qualified, contented employees. For them, we create a pleasant working climate in which each individual can develop fully. Siltronic employees can progress and obtain qualifications in individual training and advancement programs that are tailored to their personal strengths. Siltronic is also deeply committed to integrating people with handicaps. This necessitates individual job counseling, a responsibility assumed by our disability delegates.
At Siltronic, creating the ideal conditions for a successful career particularly includes finding ways for staff to combine a family and a job. To this end, we create individual working-hours models that take account of the various life stages of men and women.
Corporate Citizenship
Siltronic's responsibility extends far beyond the development and sale of products. As a corporate citizen, Siltronic is an inextricable part of the warp and weft of society.
As a globally active company, Siltronic assumes far more than just economic and ecological responsibilities. We also consider ourselves to be a corporate citizen. Our children are the future of society.We want to create for them a climate that fosters innovation and progress, arouse their curiosity about natural sciences and technology and instill in them a sense of the importance of knowledge for our future.Aside from involvement in school activities, we maintain close contact with institutes of tertiary learning and with researchers at universities around the globe. We support students with their undergraduate theses, offer internships and jobs to student employees. All these initiatives ensure steady dialogue with the young people in society.Social responsibility also extends to our involvement in aid projects to support people in need - lasting help for people to help themselves.
