After gaining his doctorate in technical sciences, Dr. Wilhelm Sittenthaler started his career in 1980 as laboratory manager at the Consortium für elektrochemische Industrie GmbH - WACKER´s central research - in Munich. In 1986 he took over the lab management of the Application Technology Department in Wacker-Chemie GmbH’s Silicone Division. Between 1990 and 1996 he was Regional Marketing and Sales Manager of the Silicone Division and eventually Manager of the Chemicals Division at Wacker Chemicals East Asia Ltd. in Tokyo. In 1996, Dr. Sittenthaler was appointed Head of the Oils, Resins and Silanes Business Unit at the Burghausen Plant. Since joining the Executive Board of Wacker-Chemie GmbH in Munich in 2000, he has been in charge of the WACKER SPECIALTIES Division, polysilicon and corporate R&D. In April 2003 Dr. Sittenthaler was appointed as Chairman of the Board at Siltronic AG and since May 2008 also a member of the Wacker Chemie AG Executive Board.
