Dr. Gerhard Brehm studied mechanical engineering at the Technical College of Coburg, Germany from 1970 to 1973. He then went to the Technical University of Berlin, where he studied process engineering from 1973 to 1976. Thereafter Dr. Brehm began his career as a research associate at the Technical University of Berlin where he received a doctorate. He joined the former Wacker-Chemitronic GmbH’s Research & Development department in 1983. In the years to follow, he headed various production departments. His duties included project manager for Wasserburg site and integration of the Freiberg site into former Wacker Siltronic GmbH. From 1997 to 2002, he was in charge of small-diameter wafer production. Thereafter, Dr. Brehm was project manager of the new site for Fab 300-2 in Freiberg, Saxony and most recently as Freiberg’s Site Manager. In November 2004, he was appointed to Siltronic AG’s Management Board as Chief Technology Officer.
